Venture capital company, Innovation Capita, has invested a $1.5 million first funding tranche into 1300 RECORD Pty LTd to fund the establishment of new distribution channels to market the Australian-owned cloud computing company.

1300 RECORD enables businesses to record phone calls – both incoming and outgoing – from any phone anywhere in Australia, including landline, mobile and VOIP. Calls are recorded digitally and stored securely and indefinitely on the cloud where they can be downloaded, shared via email link, or transcribed to text.

1300 RECORD Chair, Fiona Pak-Poy, who is a General Partner with Innovation Capital, has also announced the appointment of Yasmin Dugan as the CSO of the Melbourne-based company.

Ms Dugan recently resigned from Telstra after a 30-year career in various senior leadership roles. She said the company’s products would “change the way Australians do business with particular benefit for SMEs”, and that her focus would be to drive distribution channels and sales coverage including productisation with major telecommunication companies locally and internationally.  She said the company’s cloud-based products would enable small businesses to emjoy the advantages of professional call recording without the capital and complexity of ‘call centre-type’ solutions.
