The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced its confidence that a resolution to Telstra’s Structural Separation Undertaking by the December 20 timeline is a possibility.

The ACCC released a brief statement in response to an article published in the Australian Financial Review, which revealed that the Commission would accept Telstra’s proposal.

“The ACCC reiterates its previous advice that it does not consider the remaining issues under discussion to be insurmountable. The timing of lodgement for a revised undertaking remains a matter for Telstra, but the ACCC understands that Telstra intends to lodge shortly,” the Commission said in its statement.

“The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission continues to have constructive discussions with Telstra in relation to a revised structural separation undertaking and the issues under discussion have narrowed considerably.”
