The Federal Government is encouraging community members to make final submissions to the 2011-12 Regional Telecommunications Independent Review Committee before the public consultation period closes on December 11.

Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy, said the committee was conducting a review of telecommunications services in regional, rural and remote Australia.

"Over the past three months, the committee has conducted consultations in a broad range of regional and remote communities across Australia, as well as a number of capital cities," Senator Conroy said.

The committee will report back to government with its findings by 5 March 2012.
