Internet service provider iiNet has announced it has connected 10,000 customers to the National Broadband Network (NBN Co) via fibre, satellite and fixed wireless options.

iiNet’s Chief Executive Officer, Michael Malone, said the 10,000 milestone represents the company’s support of project.

“We’ve hit our stride when it comes to connecting people to the NBN quickly and smoothly, and getting access to Australia’s best internet with iiNet is hassle-free. Best of all, no matter what NBN connection our customers receive, they can bank on getting our awesome customer service and support,” Mr Malone said.

But Mr Malone refused to mince words when talking about the speed of the programs rollout, which has been hit with constant delays.

“As we’ve said before, the sooner we can connect more people to super-fast broadband the better and we're looking forward to connecting thousands more as the rollout continues,” Mr Malone said.

The announcement by iiNet comes after the NBN Co announced it had revised its projected connections for the next three months downwards, blaming contractors for failing to meet delivery targets.
