The total number of Australian businesses and premises connected to iiNet’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) has overtaken the number of customers connected under the National Broadband Network (NBN).

iiNet has now connected over 8,000 customers to the high-speed FTTH broadband service via iiNEt’s TransACT network

iiNet Chief Executive Officer, Michael Malone, said iiNet's recent acquisitions and growth have positioned the Group to be the leader in FTTH broadband in Australia.

"We're all about upgrading the lives of our customers and giving them access to innovative products backed up by our award-winning customer service. When it comes to FTTH, we're using every opportunity to connect as many Australians as we can to the best internet around," he said.

"As well as delivering super-fast broadband to more people than are connected to FTTH through the NBN, we're now a major provider of FTTH services in Australia," he said.
