Queensland Rail has picked a provider for its $94 million IT services shakeup.

Queensland Rail has chosen DXC Technology as its sole provider for its big IT cloud shift.

The government-owned rail operator will pay DXC $94 million deal over the next 10 years for it to cover all core IT services, service integration, service management, end user compute services, managed application services, printing services, ICT security services and infrastructure and cloud services.

The Queensland Government expects the single supplier model to deliver cost efficiencies.

The first assets to move to the cloud will be service integration and service management tools. This tranche is expected to be complete by mid-2019.

Other cloud shifts will occur up to January 2020.
