New Zealand technology company SilverStripe has set up its Australian headquarters in North Melbourne, bringing  up to 50 new IT jobs to the state over the next four years.

 

Established in 2000, privately-owned SilverStripe is a provides open source content management systems and web development services. More than 20,000 web developers globally use SilverStripe’s software tools to build websites.

 

SilverStripe is the latest New Zealand technology company to establish a presence in Victoria, joining  Gen-i, Xero and Tait Communications.

 

The jobs to be created in Victoria by SilverStripe will include project architects, new code designers and developers, creative directors, art directors and system integrators in areas such as quality assurance, network security, server and website administration and support.

 

Shane Weddell, Managing Director of SilverStripe Australia said the Australian operation based in Victoria will become an important hub for SilverStripe as the company continues to grow globally.

 

Tim Copeland, Co-Founder of SilverStripe in New Zealand, said Melbourne was an excellent location to base its Australian growth.

 

“Melbourne is a logical location for us to establish our Australian base and grow from. Melbourne offers a strong collaborative business environment with significant opportunities for SilverStripe. Being in Melbourne will also enable us to better respond to our customers’ needs in Australia and across the globe,” Mr Copeland said.
