Communications & Engagement Lead (full-time, ongoing)

Are you a Communications & Engagement professional with extensive experience in contemporary communications, engagement and project management? 

Join the Communications & Engagement Team to lead and partner with the business in the development, execution and reporting of innovative and integrated communications and engagement projects, leveraging digital and traditional media channels.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple communications and engagement projects, ensuring satisfactory and timely delivery of high quality outcomes for internal and external audiences.
  • Provide leadership across the organisation, offering advice, expertise, assistance and direction with communications and engagement.
  • Work with the Manager of Communications & Engagement to lead the organisation to a digital first communication and engagement presence.
  • Manage and maintain digital and traditional communications, engagement and media mechanisms.
  • Develop impactful content for internal and external communication touch points, including but not limited to media releases, regulatory publications, website, intranet, social media channels, newspapers, industry newsletters, speaking notes, ministerial briefing notes, videos and filming, order of proceedings, customer literature (across the business), updates, advertising and fact sheets.
  • Undertake research as appropriate to ensure high quality and informative projects are completed efficiently, effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Develop, manage and maintain effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including other government departments (ie. DELWP, DHHS, EPA) and water authorities, print, broadcast (radio & TV) and online media.
  • Facilitate launches and media events, including community consultation programs, ministerial events, and festivals as required.
  • Coordinate and lead community forums, engagement activities in relation to various topics as aligned with business project objectives.
  • Manage and deliver education programs across the CHW region directly linked to corporate external campaigns and business needs.
  • Manage and deliver CHW’s community sponsorship program.
  • Assist in the delivery and maintenance of CHW’s website while enhancing CHW’s corporate profile while maximising benefits for customers and the community.
  • Manage, implement and maintain brand and visual identity standards.
  • Provide digital and media communications support for incidents and emergency management as required.
  • Periodically, provide after hours and/or roster support for events, incidents and emergencies (with appropriate remuneration).
  • Analyse CHWs media presence and provide strategic advice for maximum exposure.
  • Be proactive in providing support and assistance to other members of the Communications and Engagement team, to ensure the achievement of team goals and objectives are reached.
  • Provide support and assistance as required to the organisation and internal stakeholders.
  • Other duties as directed.
