Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive local government organisation committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. An exciting opportunity is currently available for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Technology Group in the role of Coordinator Service Desk.

This position leads a small team in the provision of efficient and effective end user support services to ensure the technology environment and related productivity applications are maintained and fit for purpose whilst being cost effective.

Coordinating the operation of the Service Desk, the successful candidate will make informed technical and operational decisions, ensuring that the team can provide first point contact and complex customer support for all technology systems to agreed service levels and with a focus on superior customer service.

To be considered for this position applicants will need to address how their skills and experience meet the following essential criteria:

  • A Degree and/or extensive practical experience in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Certification in the ITIL framework and evidence of applying the framework to enable effective and efficient customer focussed IT support services.
  • Extensive relevant experience in the coordination and delivery of Service Desk support services to an organisation of similar scale and complexity as Council.
  • Extensive understanding of technology systems utilised by end users in an organisation of similar scale and complexity as Council.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and mentor a team of technology professionals to deliver excellence in customer service.
  • Experience in managing a technology fleet across multiple sites and ensuring availability of relevant equipment and software and its ongoing maintenance and enhancement.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects both internally and utilising external suppliers.
  • Relevant communication skills, including the delivery of end user training and documentation and liaison with challenging customers.
  • Prepared to work outside normal business hours on a rostered, rotational basis.
  • Understanding of contemporary organisation trends and requirements including employment practices, work health and safety and sustainability.
  • Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.

Employment in this position is subject to the successful completion of a Criminal History Check with a result of no relevant adverse findings.
