Head of Vendor Management

Our Intelligence Management Function (IMF) is a centralised data and analytics team, delivering real time, cutting edge analytics and actionable insights on emerging risks to be prevention led and client centric. We are uplifting our tools and techniques in a transforming environment, to better understand our clients and their needs to predict risk and prevent harm in the workplace.

As our Head of Vendor Management, you will be key in managing and engaging vendors and analytics providers to deliver business objectives aligned to our WorkSafe 2030 strategy. You will be a key figure in driving a large and complex portfolio supporting our newly formed Intelligence Management Function.

  • You will develop and lead relationships with vendors, to ensure engagements are optimised with an eye for continuous improvement
  • Partner with our Strategic Planning team to establish vendor engagement frameworks, strategies and plans as an input to the overall IMF data and analytics strategy
  • Actively research the data and analytics commercial environment, advising on market trends and collating specialist advice from third parties
  • Oversee a streamlined process to on-board and off-board vendor resources to meet the operational requirements of delivery teams
  • Partner with IMF and ITSS teams to ensure outcomes delivered by vendors and analytics providers provide adequate support for ongoing operation

About you

You are a very experienced in commercial management of vendors to deliver on major projects. Your highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills are a key driver to your current success and future success of this role. Additional, you will have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Commerce, Business, Information Systems)
  • Background within a Procurement environment working and engaging with Analytical providers
  • A thorough understanding of agile delivery principles and methodologies including but not limited to; Agile, Scrum, ITIL, DevOps, Continuous Delivery and/or Rapid Application Development
  • Strong commercial acumen utilising effective methods to research and source vendors, contract negotiation skills and market knowledge
  • High developed experience in organisational change, influencing and changing culture and work practices
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills and an ability to think laterally to identify practical and workable solutions
