About the team

Financial Markets Group is responsible for implementing the Reserve Bank’s operations in domestic and foreign exchange markets, monitoring and analysing developments in financial markets and co-ordinating the Reserve Bank’s relationship with international institutions.  This role is part of the Data Management team where you will be responsible for leading a team of data professionals responsible of the design, development and maintenance of data pipelines across the group.  You will work with technical and business stakeholders to execute on the Bank’s strategic agenda and solve complex data problems.

About the role

  • Lead/Coordinate data management activities for the Financial Markets Group working closely with business stakeholders and the Enterprise Data Office(EDO).
  • Provide technical expertise, ensuring the teams data projects and overall output is delivered on time, is robust, within scope and of high quality.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate clearly, collaborating with business stakeholders, technologists, and data professionals across the Bank to drive the uplift of data practises.
  • Identify and respond to data issues, risks, and opportunities, maintaining controls and ensuring robust processes are operationalised.
  • Provide expert advice on relevant departmental data activities, structures, processes, and frameworks. 
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment that encourages continuous improvement.

About you

  • Advance knowledge of data management or data technologies and how they can be applied within financial markets.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with demonstratable experience influencing technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Articulate and persuasive communicator, able to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders and discuss details with technical partners.
  • Experience working independently as well as leading others, providing day to day direction to ensure output is delivered to a high standard.
  • Understanding of organizational policies/processes and risk management practises with the ability to exercise judgement to achieve positive outcomes.
