About the opportunity
The Education Office of the Sydney Medical Program is responsible for the delivery, management and evaluation of the Sydney MD Program, and the coordination of a standard curriculum in consultation with the University of Sydney clinical schools located at several sites. The Education Office facilitates the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the quality of teaching and learning and assessment; undertakes research related to medical education.
The Sydney Medical Program is a graduate entry medicine course with an annual intake of approximately 300 students (220-230 domestic, 70-80 international). The SMP is part of the wider Faculty of Medicine comprising Schools of Public Health and School of Medical Sciences. Changes in the future will likely lead to a larger Faculty of Health with Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry and Pharmacy, with opportunities for increased collaboration in teaching and research.
The Educational Designer will provide operational support under guidance of the Project Manager and will work on developing, creating, testing and implementing educational resources aligned to the needs of the work area. As the successful candidate, you will offer deep technical knowledge and operational support to Academic, Research and Teaching staff across the Faculty to support the teaching and research requirements of the faculty. You will drive innovations in the provision of eLearning sites and student learning experiences by providing practical solutions and delivering tools and resources. You will work in close collaboration with academic and teaching staff to develop innovative online multimedia resources.
Additionally you will play a leading role in adopting innovations in e-Learning, identifying and implementing new technologies, and developing education designs to improve learning outcomes that enhance the student learning experience. You will also be responsible for providing expert advice, training and support to staff to make the best use of educational technology to deliver engaging and effective courses.
