About the opportunity
This position will provide software engineering and system integration skills to autonomous vehicle research and development projects within the intelligent transport systems group. This role will involve collaborating with researchers and postgraduate students to enable the implementation and deployment of new algorithms and software packages onto our research vehicles. The role includes managing various aspects of the vehicle including interfacing with hardware (e.g. sensors), coding algorithms for autonomous vehicle operations in real time, and managing the data collected as part of the research program.

The Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) group is part of the Australian Centre for Field Robotics. Our aim is to solve the problem of mobility for people and goods in an urban environment using automation. We look to address several key challenges in this area including localisation, perception, path planning and control. Our group consists of around 10 researchers and postgraduate students working in various aspects of these challenges.
