ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT team at Moreland City Council are transforming as we embark on a journey to become a customer-centric, high performing team, focussed on delivering exceptional outcomes for our organisation. We have a refreshed strategy in place and are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and innovative person to help us turn our goals into actions.

The Applications and Database Coordinator role is an integral role in the delivery of our strategy. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer this role will be responsible in ensuring that Moreland City Councils IT systems run effectively and are robust and reliable for all council employees and our community. Focusing on leadership and identifying problems, this role will also recommend improvements to applications and data architectures and assist in the development and implementation of IT strategies.  

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE

  • Relevant work experience with managing application and database systems and support teams
  • Degree in Information Technology or Business Systems
  • A strong understanding and experience in project management methodologies and certifications
  • Be a progressive leader with a collaborative approach
  • A strong understanding of IT security principles and operation
  • Project Management qualification (Prince2 or PMBOK) is highly desirable
