We have an exciting opportunity for Manager Information Communication Technology (ICT) to provide leadership and specialist professional and technical expertise to influence and support information systems, management and decision making. The key leader of the ICT team with approximately 7 employees, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, development and performance of the section to effectively meet all Council's ICT management, compliance and reporting functions and in conjunction with ensuring lCT sustainability and probity.

Able to enthusiastically embrace change, you will help others to do the same by applying skills that combine strong leadership with the ability to motivate, inspire and foster a team environment using an innovative, consultative and flexible approach through highly-developed communication and interpersonal skills.

You will be a manager with a proven track record in providing strategic, professional and technical ICT expertise and advice to internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer focussed efficient performance of the ICT functions of Council. You'll also have a solid understanding of compliance, risk minimisation and the environment in which a council operates.

Your substantial experience in managing a team within a local government environment will enable you to deliver on key responsibilities. You'll have a good understanding of the relevant Australian Standards and other associated legislation and be able to ensure the timely preparation, accuracy and quality of correspondence, reports, briefings and other specialised documents. Your relevant tertiary qualification will also set you in good stead for this opportunity.

What we offer you

This is a five-year contract position giving you the opportunity to see the long-term results of your work with us. The salary package is $132k - $140k, including superannuation. City of Darwin offers six weeks annual leave, salary sacrifice options, and the opportunity for continuous professional development and learning. Relocation assistance may be offered to the successful candidate.

As part of Council's recruitment process, successful applicants will undergo pre-employment assessments, which may include a medical.
