CSIRO is seeking a talented Web Developer to work as part of a team on various websites and platforms.

You will assist with the day to day technical support, development and deployment of CSIRO’s websites and pages in an agile environment. In this diverse role, you will be primarily responsible for developing sites and pages for the Sitecore platform in ASP.Net. You will also use other technologies such as HTML, CSS, C#, MVC, JavaScript and API’s.

This is a security assessed position. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, with successful candidate either holding or having the ability to obtain a Baseline, Australian Government security clearance.

Your duties will include

  • Working under the Lead Developer to develop and deploy websites using the standard platforms and practices utilised by CSIRO.
  • Troubleshooting and providing technical support for CSIRO's sites which are used by a large number of content authors and end users.
  • Working directly with clients of the team to address and meet their web development needs.
  • Creating technical documentation to support the development team and its projects.
  • Working closely with front end developers and designers to build accessible user interfaces and experiences.
  • Using source control tools and project management methodologies and systems to manage work and deliver on major responsibilities within assigned projects.

Location: Negotiable - Canberra ACT, Melbourne (Clayton) VIC, Geelong VIC or Sydney (North Ryde) NSW
Salary: AU$83k - AU$94k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be successful you will need

  • A relevant degree in IT or relevant work experience in web development.
  • A minimum of ~3 years’ demonstrated experience working as a programmer/web developer, preferably with Microsoft ASP.Net technologies.
  • Excellent skills programming in a broad range of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, C#, MVC, JavaScript, API's.
  • The ability to rapidly acquire skills with new and different web platforms and programming languages.
  • Experience with source control tools and agile project management methodologies and systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a history of professional and respectful behaviours and attitudes in a collaborative environment
  • Australian citizenship with the ability to hold, or currently holding, a Baseline, Australian Government security clearance.
