National Planning and Engagement Lead - AusCalVal Facility

CSIRO is home to extensive Earth Observation (EO) science and has established and operated EO satellite calibration sites across Australia for over 15 years. We continue to grow this capability in support of the National Space Mission for Earth Observation (NSMEO) through further development of the AusCalVal Facility. The National Planning and Engagement Lead - AusCalVal Facility is a leadership role in an exciting new program of Earth observation activities being established to support the implementation of the Australian Government Earth Observation from Space Roadmap (‘EO Roadmap’), including the NSMEO.
As the National Planning and Engagement Lead - AusCalVal Facility, you will support the Manager AusCalVal Facility in the planning and implementation of the AusCalVal Facility, and lead critical cross-agency national engagement and coordination of activities on satellite calibration and validation. You will collaborate with cal/val experts in Australia’s Earth observation research and industry community, including those that operate key cal/val sites across the country. In this key role, you will also coordinate joint activities between AusCalVal and relevant NCRIS Facilities (eg TERN and IMOS), that already operate science infrastructure for satellite calibration and that conduct derived satellite data product validation activities.

Salary: AU$117k - AU$138k pa (pro-rata for part-time) + up to 15.4% superannuation
