The Opportunity

CSIRO’s Future Science Platforms (FSPs) are a rare opportunity to turn Australia’s future challenges into opportunities and invent a better future for us all.

Our FSPs highlight the diversity of research across CSIRO, from Space Technology and Deep Earth Imaging to Collaborative Intelligence, Autonomous Sensors, Microbiomes and Quantum Technology.

Each FSP is an investment in science that underpins innovation and that has the potential to help reinvent and create new industries for Australia. FSPs will see us grow the capability of a new generation of researchers and allow Australia to attract the best experts to work with us on future science.

We need early to mid-career researchers in science and engineering, including digital, social and economic sciences, to solve impossible problems and advance the frontiers of our research. We’re particularly looking for people with innovation skills to develop, extend and translate breakthroughs and technologies to research outcomes that can make a difference in the world.

We also welcome applications from candidates with a background in computer and data sciences who are passionate about applying those skills to help to solve FSP challenges.

You need to clearly state in your application the Future Science Platforms you seek to contribute to.
