Lead our business analysis capability, champion user-centred digital services

In collaboration with stakeholders and ICT Services colleagues, the Assistant Director, Applications Services will manage AFSA’s business analysis and design capability.  You will lead and promote innovation and continuous improvement, and in particular play a key role in AFSA’s adoption of the Digital Service Standard and User-Centred Design.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a small team (employees, contractors and consultants) to deliver high quality business analysis and user centred design for AFSA’s business and ICT initiatives.
  • Champion the application of the Digital Service Standard for service focused delivery.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand objectives and ensure ICT delivery aligns with these objectives as well as AFSA’s Enterprise Architecture Roadmap.
  • Manage implementation, maintenance and quality assurance of documentation, including business and technical requirements.
  • Communicate and engage with external clients and stakeholders across business and technical domains to promote the benefits of AFSA’s online services.
  • As a senior member of the Applications Services team and ICT Services Division, facilitate and contribute to workshops, project meetings or project boards, as well as present to key stakeholders and governance committees.

As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience eliciting and communicating user requirements to support delivery of digital and online services
  • Detailed understanding and application of the Digital Services Standard and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills
  • Experience working in an agile environment and leading diverse teams
