IT Security Officer
Information Technology Employee 1-2

• Provide administration, maintenance, and ongoing development of ICT systems
• Assure that ASIO ICT systems are designed, installed, maintained and operated securely
• Provide advice to stakeholders, and
• deliver targeted briefings and presentations to small audiences

Desirable Qualifications:

• Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications and
• 2+ years ICT experience in a relevant ICT discipline 

Assistant Director IT Security     EL1 Level

• Provide technical leadership and direction to a small team of IT security specialists
• Manage the provision of support, maintenance and ongoing development of internal ICT systems
• Provide assurance that ASIO ICT systems are designed, installed, maintained and operated securely
• Support system managers to develop and maintain system documentation
• Assist the development and maintenance of policy and review standard operating procedures
• Undertake security monitoring and investigations on ASIO systems
• Provide regular reporting to management

Desirable qualifications:

• Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications and
• 5+ years ICT experience in a security environment

Director IT Security     EL2 Level

• Lead a program area comprising of a small team
• Review and develop policy
• Identify, develop and support delivery of training programs
• Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and progress business outcomes
• Provide technical leadership and develop capabilities in others
• Forecast strategic issues and develop and lead responses to effectively manage risk
• Represent and promote the work of the section, branch and organisation effectively to internal and external audiences
• Explain complex technical information using language and examples appropriate to the audience
• Provide accurate, impartial and actionable advice

Desirable qualifications

• Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications and
• 8+ years ICT experience in a security environment

Co-ordinator IT Security     EL3 Level

• Providing assurance that ASIO's ICT systems are being designed, installed, maintained and operated in a secure fashion and within the Australian Government legal and governance framework;
• Identifying and recommending security improvements on ICT systems and processes;
• Providing technical security advice to ASIO across all of its functions;
• Ensuring ICT security is actively considered during all aspects of ASIO's work;
• Supporting system managers to develop, maintain and implement security related system documentation;
• Undertaking security monitoring and investigations on ASIO's systems;
• Undertake network intrusion detection and response on ASIO's networks;
• Developing policy that meets ASIO's business needs; and
• Development and delivery of ASIO's ICT security awareness and education program.

Desirable Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications; and,
• 8+ years ICT experience in a security environment.
