About the Agency

The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia's independent expert regulator for health and safety, environmental management, structural and well integrity for offshore petroleum facilities and activities in Commonwealth waters.

ITC Team

NOPSEMA is building an in-house software delivery team to provide long term technical expertise and software development capability and deliver on its technology strategy.

About the Role

The role is for a full stack software developer to work on existing and new projects and provide operational support and maintenance of existing Ruby on Rails applications.

Working in a small team with a strong agile culture, you will be involved in all software delivery activities including testing, coding, continuous delivery, maintenance and support.

You will develop software using modern frameworks and technology on cloud infrastructure, using Ruby on Rails, containers and continuous delivery tools.

You will work within an agile project management system and participate in all agile activities such as stand-ups, pairing, retrospectives, etc.

What we’re looking for

Essential

Experience in web application development

Experience in agile delivery methods

Experience managing software delivery projects

Excellent communication, problem solving and innovation skills

Desirable

Knowledge of Ruby on Rails, Javascript, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, AWS, Linux, Git, Docker, continuous delivery tools.

Knowledge of and/or experience in the Offshore Petroleum Industry.
