The Victorian Cancer Registry is a population-based cancer registry that provides comprehensive, accurate and timely information for cancer control by developing and maintaining a high quality, accessible information asset to support epidemiological, clinical, behavioural and health services research and evaluation.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a Head of Data Analytics to join the Victorian Cancer Registry. Reporting to the Director, Victorian Cancer Registry, your role is to:

  • Lead development of reports which describe the epidemiology of cancer in Victoria

  • Generate descriptive statistics on incidence, mortality, prevalence and survival for cancer in Victoria

  • Contribute to national and international projects aimed at improving cancer data

  • Working in a team environment, lead research activity using, or improving the use of, data reported to the registry

  • Develop new and innovative ways of presenting information to a wide range of stakeholders and be involved in research to improve cancer reporting to improve health outcomes for Victorians

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Master’s degree in statistics or equivalent undergraduate training

  • Demonstrated experience as a statistician analysing health data

  • Well-developed writing and communication skills

  • Superior planning and organisational skills
