The Victorian Cancer Registry is a population-based cancer registry that provides comprehensive, accurate and timely information for cancer control by developing and maintaining a high quality, accessible information asset to support epidemiological, clinical, behavioural and health services research and evaluation.
We are seeking a Head of Data Analytics to join the Victorian Cancer Registry. Reporting to the Director, Victorian Cancer Registry, your role is to:
Lead development of reports which describe the epidemiology of cancer in Victoria
Generate descriptive statistics on incidence, mortality, prevalence and survival for cancer in Victoria
Contribute to national and international projects aimed at improving cancer data
Working in a team environment, lead research activity using, or improving the use of, data reported to the registry
Develop new and innovative ways of presenting information to a wide range of stakeholders and be involved in research to improve cancer reporting to improve health outcomes for Victorians
We are looking for someone with:
Master’s degree in statistics or equivalent undergraduate training
Demonstrated experience as a statistician analysing health data
Well-developed writing and communication skills
Superior planning and organisational skills
