Assistant Director- General Intelligence Production 

The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) is seeking a highly motivated, outcome driven senior executive to fill the position of Assistant Director-General, Intelligence Production, based in Canberra ACT.

As the Assistant Director-General Intelligence Production, you will lead the branch housing ASD's signals intelligence production effort to meet the requirements of government. You will need to inspire your branch, drive strategic change and prioritise competing business requirements to deliver outcomes for ASD, the ADF and other partners. Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills will be required to negotiate persuasively and support your staff while they work through complex tasks.

The successful candidate will apply superior judgement to ensure activities are compliant with all legislative and policy requirements. You will be a flexible and collaborative leader who is prepared to take calculated risks. You will be resilient and thrive in a high-tempo, operational environment. You will be self-aware, positive in considering and respecting a diversity of ideas and perspectives, and have the courage to challenge the status quo when it does not serve the required outcome.

Your workforce will be highly analytical, working in a high-tempo operational environment. The successful candidate will report to the First Assistant Director-General Intelligence.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated ability to operate in accordance with, and actively promote ASD’s values and the Defence Leadership Behaviours, which will continue to be adopted and implemented within ASD. The remuneration package includes superannuation, an Executive Vehicle allowance and, where applicable, relocation expenses. The salary component for this position may be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing basis or for a specified term. To be eligible for engagement, an applicant must be, or intend to become, a permanent Australian citizen. This is a security-designated position. The successful applicant will be required to undergo security assessments to the highest level and must be able to be cleared to Top Secret Positive Vetting.
