Number 3 Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force operates Australia’s newest fighter combat aircraft, the state of the art, F-35A Lightning joint strike fighter aircraft. The Information Assurance Manager is responsible for the management and governance of information security systems and processes within the 3 Squadron facility.

The Information Assurance Manager is accountable under broad direction to undertake complex technical activities in relation to information and cyber security. You will work within a framework of legislation, established industry principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence’s mission and business objectives. You will work independently, having delegated authority and discretion to explore innovative approaches to support the longer-term business objectives.

The Information Assurance Manager will use their initiative and experience to analyse, plan, review and adjust priorities and work activities to meet required outcomes. You will undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence providing detailed technical, operational, professional and procedural advice in relation to complex information and cyber security activities. These may include system administration and development, incident response, cyber forensics, and vulnerability analysis and research.

The successful candidate will be working with personnel trained on the most advanced fighter combat aircraft in the world.  You will be responsible for the information and cyber security systems which are essential to enable Australia to operate this advanced weapons system as a key contributor to Australia’s national security. The successful candidate will be employed at RAAF Base Williamtown in Port Stephens NSW.

Number 3 Squadron operates from new high-tech facilities, purpose built to allow the aircraft to operate at the highest security levels in Australia. As the Information Assurance Manager you will lead a small operational team of highly trained and capable security personnel and will be responsible the quality of the work group’s achievements.
