The Defence Science and Communications Branch is looking for a passionate online web developer to join our mission of delivery high quality web systems for the Defence Science and Technology (DST) community. In this position you will be part of a team which will exhibit the significance science and technology contributes to Defence and wider Australian community. You will work within a high performing team which keeps its focus on the strategic goals of the team and the organisation. The team is proactive in remaining on the cutting edge of modern web technologies within the constraints of a protected environment. We offer the flexibility to work with a wide range of software therefore we are preferably looking for a person who has relevant qualifications or someone with equivalent industry experience.

You will need to be an experienced developer in C# and SharePoint, have knowledge and some experience in SharePoint configurations and administering and developing SharePoint applications, clustering farms and the ability to apply cumulative updates. You will need good knowledge of HTML 5 and CSS and a sound knowledge of JavaScript development – ideally with experience in a framework such and Knockout and jQuery.

Experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines and in writing unit tests is required and any experience with PHP would be highly regarded. You will be provided with future opportunities to expand your knowledge and skill sets by working with the of the DST applications, such as public website, mobile apps and other, internal micro-apps. Therefore, we need someone who is an enthusiastic learner and is prepared to learn from other developers in the team.
