The Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group provide the Australian Defence Force with a capability edge. We are the Australian Government’s lead agency responsible for applying science and technology to safeguard Australia and its national interests.  The Research Services Division aims to be professional, lean and responsive to deliver services that directly support Science and Technology Research.   The Research Engineering (RE) branch dedicates itself to providing specialised scientific engineering, design and fabrication solutions to enable DST to meet its strategic objectives and delivers cutting edge solutions.

As an Electronic Engineer Specialist will play a major role in managing the design, development, review, manufacture and implementation activities. You will inspire your highly skilled team of design engineers to deliver on project requirements. Your time management skills will be on full display as you meet outcomes within scheduled timeframes. Leadership skills are considered valuable for this role as you work with your team to maintain currency of skills and knowledge in engineering to maintain a high quality of engineering capability within the branch.  

We are seeking an Electronic Engineer to join our dedicated and highly competent team. To be successful in the role you will possess demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas; electronic design, embedded microprocessor based software design, hosted software design, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design, analogue design, data acquisition systems design and high speed digital design. You will be expected to be a domain leader within the team, and demonstrate strong professional experience, suited to Research Engineering’s ISO 9001 Quality Management framework.
