SEA05011 – Maritime Electromagnetic Manoeuvre Warfare is a significant project which will integrate a suite of electronic warfare capabilities across various RAN platforms introducing a new discipline of Naval Warfare. The growth prospects of this project are substantial with the completion timeframe extending out to 2050+. The EL2 Engineering Director will lead a team of engineers and maintain responsibility for all engineering activities conducted under the SEA05011 program.

The successful candidate will be highly experience in systems engineering with demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the electronic warfare domain as well as possessing strong communication, stakeholder engagement and staff management skills. They will also have proven experience managing a diverse team and delivering complex projects or sustainment product outcomes.

The key responsibility of the SEA05011 Engineering Director will be to develop, manage and support the implementation of SEA05011 engineering function. This will include:

  • Support to the development of M-EMW strategies, plans and schedules;
  • Vertical integration of the engineering function supporting seaworthiness across all stakeholders (including industry) incorporating governance functions;
  • Management, custodianship and cultivation of sovereign engineering capabilities aligned to the SICP;
  • Identification of technical roadmaps supporting development, prototyping and transition of enabling technologies supporting program requirements;
  • Support the engagement and alignment of M-EMW into the broader ADF; and
  • Provide authorities technical advice for the SEA05011 project to a range of domestic and international stakeholders (both government and industry).
