This is a major project for the future Australian Defence Satellite Communication System. It will develop and deliver the next generation of satellite communications capability enabling resilient and responsive communications beyond the range and capacity of other systems in support of Australian Defence Force operations.

The project is seeking highly motivated and skilled professionals in logistics, project management and engineering with a genuine interest to contribute and be a part of a team delivering this strategically significant capability. As the Security Engineer, you will be accountable to the project’s Chief Engineer to support the planning, developing and management of the project’s security program, including Project Cyber Security Management Plan, Security Risk Management Plan, System Accreditation Plan and System Overview Document.

Our Ideal Candidate:

You will have proven experience and knowledge in Systems Engineering. You will also possess experience in stakeholder management and high quality written and oral communication skills.  You will be able to operate effectively within a Government Procurement Framework. This position requires a Bachelor of Engineering from an Australian Institution or a qualification gained elsewhere, that satisfies the requirements of the Washington Accord for recognition as a Professional Engineer.

This position will provide opportunity to:

  • support integration of Cyber Security into the design of this Satellite Communications system,
  • be responsible for maintaining and monitoring overall System security,
  • manage security related contract activities, data item deliverables and security risk management activities,
  • organise and participate in the Project Cyber Security Working Group (CSWG) and Project System Accreditation Working Group (SAWG), and,
  • collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify and resolve security related issues and support Security Accreditation activities.
