The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a PSL 5 Senior Electronic Security Systems (ESS) Support Officer within Digital Customer Services Branch. 

DPS is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and experienced Senior Support Officer within the ESS Operations Service Desk team. DPS has over 1,000 staff and provides a diverse range of services and functions to support the Australian Parliament and custodianship of Australian Parliament House (APH). These services and functions include but are not limited to, physical security; reporting and broadcasting; library and research services catering; visitor and art services; and the provision of ICT equipment and services at both APH and at Electorate Offices Australia-wide.

The Senior ESS Support Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of building occupants at Parliament House. As a member of the ESS Service Desk the position is responsible for providing first level support and maintenance of Electronic Security Systems (particularly CCTV and Electronic Access Control Systems). Responding to telephone, email and system generated notifications, team members are responsible for logging, initial investigation, and escalation of ESS incidents and requests.

The ESS Operations Service Desk provides onsite support from 7:00am to 7:00pm Monday to Friday during Parliamentary sitting periods, and 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday during non-sitting periods. These service hours may be extended in future to span 6:00am to 10:00pm weekdays, and 7:00am to 7:00pm weekends and public holidays.

Applicants should have well-developed communication (both written and oral) and time management skills in order to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, contractors and supervisors to ensure that all work is undertaken in a professional and timely manner.

Applicants will also have experience diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems as well as strong attention to detail and place a professional emphasis on the importance of accuracy and completeness.
