APS Level 6, IT Service Desk Team Leader

 

About the Role

The Treasury is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed IT Service Desk Team Leader to join our internal IT team based at our Canberra office. The department’s IT team is located within the Information Services Branch, a part of the Corporate and Foreign Investment Group.

The Service Desk Team Leader supervises and coordinates the work of the Service Desk Team who are the first point of contact for many IT-related services and are renowned for providing reliable, timely and efficient ICT support to Treasury staff and clients. Strong team leadership, excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to provide consistently high levels of service are critical to the success of this role.

Our ideal candidate

Candidates will be required to:

  • lead a team who provide front-line (level 1) technical support via phone, email and in-person in a professional manner
  • foster productive relationships with level 2 support teams, suppliers and vendors
  • coordinate the set-up and support of new workstations in a range of office locations (includes potential interstate travel)
  • manage a range of project-related initiatives while balancing the demands of a wide customer base
  • have a proactive approach to leading a small, multidisciplinary team
  • participate in a roster-based work schedule
  • demonstrate well-developed communication, interpersonal and client-service skills, and
  • support the Service Delivery Assistant Director with a focus on continuous improvement or IT processes and services

Desirable Qualifications / Experience

  • Formal qualifications in IT Service Management
  • Experience managing an IT team
  • ITIL foundation certification


Eligibility

Employees of the Treasury are required to be Australian citizens and must hold a current security clearance or successfully complete a clearance prior to commencement.
