Software Engineer

NOPSEMA is Australia’s Offshore Energy Regulator for health and safety, infrastructure integrity and environmental management for offshore energy activities in Commonwealth waters.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Software Engineer to join our Information Technology and Data Team at our Perth Office on a non-ongoing (fixed-term) basis for an initial period of up to 18 months, with possible extension.

In this role you will contribute to the design and development of custom software solutions to meet our current and evolving needs.  You will also assist with the management, support and maintenance of software solutions and maintain the software development environment and its delivery.

The role requires a candidate that possesses experience in developing web and database applications using modern patterns and frameworks and working in an agile software delivery methodology.  You must demonstrate your ability to set priorities and meet deadlines with limited supervision in a busy team environment. 

The successful candidate will possess good research and analysis skills and experience of troubleshooting and diagnosing the root cause of issues.  You should also be a strong team player, with the flexibility to shift tasks and manage priorities to deliver on operational needs and ideally possess an understanding of the offshore energy sector.
