Head of IT

We are seeking a highly skilled Head of IT with a storied history in the technological sector. You will be tasked with making executive technology decisions on behalf of the company, including managing a technology budget and making investments to align the company with their vision for its technological needs. We are looking for a strategic thinker, an effective communicator and an expert in technological development.

You will work directly under the CEO and will act as both a technology and business expert, making decisions that will impact the current and future operations of the company.

For this role, we are open to applicants of varying backgrounds in infrastructure technology. This role is ideally Sydney based, but can be remote for the right candidate.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years working in a technological role.

  • 5+ years managerial experience.

  • 5+ year business strategy experience.

  • Advanced technological skill set and a demonstrated history with technologies in networking, infrastructure and hardware including AWS.

  • Advanced knowledge of Information Security, Risk, and Compliance balanced with a healthy sensitivity to risk.

  • Practical experience in introducing mitigation strategies.

  • Practical experience in automated systems and CRMs such as Salesforce.

  • Exceptional team management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Ability to delegate efficiently.

  • Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future.

  • Innovative and solution oriented.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the company.

  • Ensuring that the technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs.

  • Outline the goals for research and development.

  • Creating timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services.

  • Making executive decisions on behalf of the company's technological requirements.

  • Acting as a mentor to team members.

  • Maintaining a consumer-focused outlook and aiding in the delivering of IT projects to market.

  • Managing technology budgets and time frames.

  • Staying on top of technology trends and developments.

  • Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.

  • Develop goals and strategies to ensure the IT department runs smoothly and effectively.

  • Direct and establish IT-related projects.

  • Monitor changes in the technology sector to discover ways the company can improve and develop.

  • Supervise the networks and computer systems in the company to ensure optimal performance.

  • Plan and direct the implementation of new IT systems.

  • Provide leadership to IT specialists and other staff within the company.

  • Create and adapt technological platforms to improve the client experience.

  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and establish regular maintenance

  • Overseeing data security and management.

  • Maintaining a company's network.

  • Lead the strategy for technology platforms, partnerships and external relationships

  • Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture

  • Work closely with Marketing, Business Development and Operations to define and deliver new products and create a timeline for development and deployment of technology services enhancements

  • Build processes for data protection and quality assurance

  • Manage digital assets

  • Plan and implement appropriate use policies for employees

  • Develop and implement all of our internal communication systems, including email and messaging

  • Develop and implement networking safeguards
