TPG has sold a range of towers and rooftop sites for $950 million.

TPG Telecom has announced a deal covering its passive tower and rooftop infrastructure at 1,237 existing mostly metropolitan sites and 252 new sites, sold to OMERS Infrastructure Management for $950 million.

TPG Telecom CEO and managing director, Iñaki Berroeta, said: "We are delighted to have concluded the strategic review of these assets with such a strong outcome for TPG Telecom shareholders.”

“It builds on the landmark multi-operator core network (MOCN) agreement we announced in February of this year to enable regional network sharing with Telstra (subject to regulatory approval).”

Some analysts say the sale will make the towers more attractive to carriers looking for colocation sites.
