The Role
As a School, whose strategic and moral imperative is to Empower Girls, specifically through a liberal, humane, progressive education, Mentone Girls’ Grammar is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated IT Support Officer.
The IT Services Department is responsible for the maintenance and development of the School’s ICT systems and infrastructure, which serve both the educative and business needs of the organisation. The IT Support Officer serves an essential role in the School’s IT Services Department by ensuring the school computing environment runs efficiently and at optimal performance. The IT Support Officer is also responsible for the installation and updates of all the various applications staff and students use on school managed devices plus provide support for the school BYOD program.
This position will suit someone who is hands-on with previous experience working in a dynamic team environment, highly professional with great people skills, and who can hit the ground running. They will possess a high degree of accuracy, and be quick at building community connections, getting things done and keeping operations running seamlessly.
Candidates must possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in computer science or IT related discipline
- Level 2 experience in client facing support role
- A strong focus on customer service; demonstrate a mature approach with an empathy towards the needs of students, parents and other key School stakeholders.
- Expertise in various versions of Windows 10 Operating systems and Microsoft Office Applications/Office 365
- Expertise in Multimedia applications
- Active Directory management and basic network administration skills (Windows Server environment)
- Experience in diagnosis and repair of hardware and software issues on client computers
- Experience with deployments & monitoring using SCCM
- Experience with enterprise MDM software deployment and administration using Jamf
- Expertise with Endpoint Security software
- Experience and enjoyment in providing customer service excellence
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft server technologies, in particular AD, Group Policy creation & Exchange administration
- Experience with Mac OS and iOS
- Experience in Networking such as switching, DHCP, DNS and WiFi
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
Previous experience in an educational setting will be highly regarded.
