We currently have a great opportunity for an individual with strong data analysis and numeracy skills to join the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) in the role of Settlement Analyst. This is a full-time 12-month fixed-term position, based in our Melbourne CBD office.
This position will support AEMO's Settlement and Prudentials through performing operational and analytical activities relating to the financial aspects of the National Electricity Market (NEM), Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM), Short Term Trading Market (STTM), Queensland Retail Market (QLD FRC) and the Gas Supply Hub to ensure continued compliance with the National Electricity Rules and National Gas Rules.
As well as being responsible for performing operational settlement activities across all energy markets operated by AEMO, ensuring compliance with relevant rules and procedures, the successful candidate will be responsible for investigating, analysing and resolving issues arising, answering participant queries and testing systems changes. The incumbent will also ensure process documentation is maintained to meet AEMO’s obligations and reflect current practice, and support external audits.
The key role requirements include:
General understanding of the role and functions of AEMO and its regulatory environment and/or energy sector experience would be an advantage.
