Power BI Developer - DAX, SQL, Auzure, API

One of Australia's leading Federal Government departments are looking to engage a Power BI Developer to work as part of a highly motivated team. The successful Power BI Developer will be working as part of the Data Platforms section will engage closely with various technical stakeholders, business subject matter experts and technical developers to support the Power BI Platform and build and maintain Power BI products for a range of audiences. The successful Power BI Developer will be offered an initial 12-month contract with a 24-month extension option.

The successful Power BI Developer will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

• Advanced skills in in Power BI and intermediate level SQL – including the ability to refine and maintain models,
• Familiarity with Power BI architecture, administration, governance and the integration of Power BI with other cloud services,
• Experience in maintaining and overseeing a broad range of large datasets,
• Proficiency in Excel to store and analyse data, including using formulas and data manipulation to tell a story,

The successful Senior Power BI Developer will have experience in the following:

• Advanced skills in Power BI, DAX and intermediate level SQL, including the ability to build refine and maintain Dataflows and models
• Ability to integrate Power BI artefacts with other Microsoft 365 and Azure based services including utilising APIs to support tenant level reporting
• Strong written and oral communication, and an ability to support and train departmental resources on Power BI and resolve platform related errors and user issues
• Experience and proficiency in Excel to store and analyse data, including using formulas and data manipulation to tell a story
