As a Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing solutions that support our business and customers. Your responsibilities will include creating architectures to guide engineering squads, ensuring functionality and effective cloud operation. You will transcribe business needs into actionable designs for software engineering teams, documenting current state architectures, and crafting transition and future state architectures.

Key priorities:  

• Iteratively develop and describe solutions, conducting workshops to gather stakeholder information and using tools to model designs. 
• Standardise architecture patterns, maintain IT component inventory, and promote architectural practices through showcases and knowledge sharing. 
• Develop architectural designs for business and IT solutions, optimising cloud-based workloads, and documenting repeatable patterns to ensure compliance and security. 
• Assist in prototypes and proofs of concept while collaborating with Engineering, Platform Engineering, QA, Security, IT Operations, and Analytics teams. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, supporting application implementation and architecture efforts. 
• Engage in continuous learning, staying updated on industry trends, and participating in governance forums to support decision-making. 

Ways of Working 

This role can be based at our Fortitude Valley office in Brisbane, or our HQ at Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast. We follow a hybrid approach, requiring office presence from Tuesday to Thursday at both locations, while providing the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. 

About you 

You should have:  

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. 
• Compliance with ASIC's "Fit and Proper Person" requirements. 
• Demonstrated expertise in a Solutions Architect role (5 years is a general indicator). 
• Proficiency in designing solutions for cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS), utilising native services to optimise operational costs. 
• Previous involvement in software development using modern languages (e.g., C#.NET, JavaScript, Python). 
• Proven capability in creating architectures across multiple disciplines including solution, application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure. 
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for effective stakeholder collaboration. 
• Knowledge of security and compliance protocols for data management in both on-premises and cloud environments. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude. 
• Experience working in Agile environments.
