ABOUT THE ROLE
The AFL is currently seeking a passionate social media professional to drive growth and engagements on the AFL and AFLW social media channels. Responsible for contributing to the AFL’s social channels and implementing the overall strategy, this role will have a particular focus on leading the matchday coverage and providing daily support to the Social Leads.
Reporting to the Managing Editor – Social Media, the Social Producer will work closely with the broader AFL digital team and the team of casual staff, who provide assistance throughout the year, in order to deliver on the strategy.
Requiring a strong grounding in social media and the ability to use established and emerging platforms, tools and strategies to promote and grow the competition’s social footprint will be the foundation of this role. Blending contemporary social media best practice with the themes, storylines and objectives of the competition to help deliver engaging content in engaging ways will also be an essential element.
The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of social-first content development and be excited by the opportunity to pitch fresh, bespoke content to take the AFL’s social media presence to the next level.
There will be an expectation of the Social Producer to work across parts of the weekend as well as night shifts, depending on various match fixtures and AFL events.
