The Role

Experienced team leaders with an interest in cyber security - this role could be for you!

Our teams are rapidly expanding and we are seeking high performing, outcomes focused individuals to join them. You will be a confident verbal and written communicator, self-motivated and able to achieve assigned tasks both independently and as part of a team. You will enjoy engaging and working alongside others, being able to maintain an outcomes focus, whilst bringing everyone along for the journey. Additionally, we are looking for time management superstars will remain calm, agile and are able to pivot quickly to ensure new priorities are promptly completed.  You will be able to plan, implement and deliver key objectives for your respective streams of work.  You will have supervised previously, and will be able to articulate how you lead.

About our Team
Within the Cyber Command, Joint Capability Group (JCG), the Cyber Security Uplift Program (CSUP) is a growing team responsible for the scope, design and implementation of enterprise-wide actions identified within the Defence Cyber Security Strategy. 

The team is comprised of members of diverse skills and disciplines who work together to elevate Defences’ cyber security posture through the development and imbedding of best practice governance, risk, performance management and process improvement frameworks within the organisation. These important roles will sit within the cyber security-operating model, governance and performance management streams of CSUP and will form part of the teams assigned to deliver the implementation and sustainment of these capabilities to Defence.

The program team has a high performing culture and the successful candidates can expect to be challenged in their roles whilst being supported by an inclusive and considerate team lead cohort and leadership group.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidates are confident and approachable leaders who thrive in a rapidly evolving and complex environment. They will be proactive, flexible and ideally have broad experience across aspects of cyber security operating models, governance, risk and performance management.  An understanding of the Essential Eight is desirable. They will have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and be accountable for the completion of their team’s work.

The successful candidates will be strong communicators and have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in producing clear, concise, and comprehensive materials, sometimes within short timeframes will be highly regarded. They will be well versed in their ability to anticipate potential issues, identify and assess likely impacts and implement mitigation strategies. Importantly, they will be accountable for leading an integrated team to success through the setting of work priorities, managing resources and providing timely coaching and feedback.
