Australia's space industry is in a precarious position after crucial space programs were axed.

Experts warn that confidence in the sector has plummeted, leading to reduced investment and potential relocation of operations abroad. 

The cancellation of a key observation program, intended for weather forecasting, GPS, and disaster response, is viewed as a setback for the industry.

Science and Industry Minister Ed Husic maintains the decision was about fiscal responsibility.
