Governments are testing their ‘vaccinated economy’ tech.

In Victoria, up to 20 trials will soon test systems and support before Victoria allows greater freedoms for vaccinated people

Starting from October 11, the trials will cover hospitality, hairdressing, beauty services and tourism businesses, as well as race meetings, community celebrations and concerts.

The plan is to eventually employ a QR check-in system linked to show people's vaccination status.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government says international COVID vaccine passports will be available next month.

The passports will come in the form of a phone app with the same personal information that a normal passport has, as well as a QR code for other countries' border officials to check a person’s vaccination status.

The vaccine passport is based on the existing ePassport system, which are made to meet international standards.
