Information Governance Team Lead

The RBA is looking for an information governance specialist to lead the practical implementation of the RBA’s records and information management framework. The position has a key focus on ensuring the RBA’s continued progress towards best-practice information management and meeting internal and external compliance obligations. As a leader of a small team, you will be responsible for ensuring that information management processes, guides, tools, training and business engagements are fit-for-purpose and enable compliant and best-practice management of information assets.

You will have a central role in promoting and achieving best-practice information management at the RBA.

You will:

  • Establish close working relationships across the RBA to understand the organisation’s information management needs and practices.
  • Contribute to the delivery of information management services that increase business efficiency, reduce risk and ensure compliance.
  • Design and lead information management initiatives that support the uptake of current and new information management processes, systems and solutions.
  • Provide specialist advice on improving information management capability.
  • Coordinate a business engagement program so that RBA staff understand the benefits of good information management and their responsibilities.
  • Provide enterprise-wide education and training program in information management and use of key tools and repositories (e.g. TRIM, SharePoint and Box). This includes oversight of the training model, management of training administration, development and maintenance of training materials (including eLearning modules) and delivery of the training program
  • Monitor and assess the information management practices of departments, maintaining metrics of maturity and compliance.
  • Administer the business classification scheme and ensure the business classification scheme and retention and disposal authorities are integrated with the EDMS.

Skills and Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of information and records management.
  • Advanced knowledge of TRIM software or equivalent EDMS environment.
  • Knowledge of the standards, best practice and legislation affecting information and records management.
  • Experience with business classification schemes and retention and disposal authorities.
  • Experience in developing and presenting education and training programs.
  • Experience in working with a range of stakeholders in providing information management services.
  • Tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in information management, or related discipline.
