You will be physically based with the Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Research group (led by A/Prof Anne Cust) part of the Sydney School of Public Health, in Camperdown, Sydney. The Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Research group engages with local, national and international groups to conduct multidisciplinary research focusing on cancer aetiology, prevention, early detection and survivorship, with a strong emphasis on translation into cancer control policy and clinical practice.

We are currently seeking an experienced Data Manager to support the coordination and provide data management expertise for a national, NHMRC-funded randomised controlled trial. The data manager will report to the project manager and chief investigator (A/Prof Anne Cust), and will work closely with other research and admin staff involved in the study

As the Data Manager you will:

  • be primarily responsible for the data management for a large randomised controlled trial (RCT), which will examine whether giving information on personal genomic risk of melanoma to the public influences sun-related behaviours and other health outcomes
  • be responsible for all aspects of timely and accurate data management practices in accordance with national and international regulations governing human research, and will coordinate the implementation and delivery of activities and tasks in order to meet the established milestones and deliverables for this RCT
  • Develop and maintain the study database, and work with website developers to develop and maintain the study website
  • Oversee the mailing-out/returning of study invitation letters, online questionnaires and saliva sample kits, oversee the timing of baseline and follow-up measures, liaise with collaborators and service partners, and download and process data from sun exposure measurement wristbands.
