What you’ll contribute to:

The Business Technology Manager, reporting to the General Manager Technology, provides vertical coverage and is accountable for the entire life cycle of Technology – the Plan/Build/Run for their assigned business area. The role joins a dedicated, motivated team that provides insight back into QAL Technology and helps deliver the department’s strategic vision.

How will you make an impact?

You will manage demand, lead strategy and roadmap, lead enterprise architecture, will be the escalation point, be accountable for the TCO of your portfolio, deliver cost targets, be accountable for projects, drive optimisation/efficiencies, own the relationship with stakeholders and provide support and insight to the business strategies, working seamlessly with Technology SME functions.

The successful candidate will have experience in IT teams, and people leadership, with a particular emphasis on operational and critical technology management.

Relevant transport industry experience is advantageous – transport, critical infrastructure.

Key deliverables/responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• The development and management of strategies to align technology plans with business objectives and the development of plans and roadmaps to execute. Ensure that the strategy delivers outcomes that deliver business value.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with all technology partners to drive the best outcomes for QAL.
• The optimisation of performance of people, including determination of capabilities, integration into teams, allocation of tasks, direction, support, guidance, motivation, and management of performance.
• Accountable for the cost and revenue outcomes of their portfolio. Tasked with delivering optimised cost for solutions and ensuring that budgets are met.
• Oversight across all technology disciplines to ensure business outcomes are delivered.
