ICT Master Scheduler (EL1)

The role

Our Federal Government client seeks an ICT Master Scheduler who will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and optimising the scheduling processes to ensure efficient and effective project execution. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of project management principles.

Duties

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project and program schedules, incorporating input from various stakeholders, project managers, and team leads.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand project scope, objectives, and dependencies to create realistic and achievable schedules
  • Utilise industry-standard scheduling tools and software to build and update project and program timelines.
  • Monitor and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal project performance.
  • Work closely with project managers and branch managers to identify resource constraints and recommend solutions.
  • Conduct resource planning and analysis to optimise team efficiency.
  • Identify and analyse critical paths within project schedules, highlighting potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Regularly review and update schedules to reflect changes in project scope, timelines, and resource availability.
  • Facilitate regular communication among project teams to ensure awareness of schedule updates, changes, and potential impacts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate various project schedules and ensure alignment with overall organisational goals.
  • Proactively identify potential scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and risks, and propose solutions to mitigate these issues.
  • Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to assess the impact of changes on project timelines and overall delivery.
The Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience creating schedules, managing resource constraints in a large enterprise (preferably ICT).
  • Strong understanding of resource scheduling, and project management with the ability to create pragmatic schedules highlight issues for resolution such as resource constraints and dependencies on different skillsets.
  • Understanding of portfolio and project management tools such as MS project, Clarizen and Jira.
