Customer Business Analyst

We are NSW’s bulk water supplier, river operator and your one-stop shop for licensing, water trades and water information. We supply two thirds of water used in NSW from our 42 dams, rivers and pipelines to regional towns, irrigators, Sydney Water and local water utilities.

We are looking for an experienced Customer Business Analyst, to join our Customer and Community team based in Parramatta. This role will facilitate discussions with SME’s to define and develop business processes, user stories and future state system designs based on industry best practice and system capability.  The successful candidate will be expected to influence without authority, and to build consensus where subject matter experts’ opinions differ, in order to achieve meaningful outcomes for a large program of work.

You will bring: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in the form of a Bachelor’s degree or a diploma in Business Administration, Business Analysis, Project Management, Information Systems / similar business discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working on at least one medium to large scale business focused Digital transformation program 
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation of Business Process Management systems or similar (ideally Pega)
  • Demonstrated experience in Business Analysis, preferably focused on writing user stories for business centric projects or customer focused technology solutions
  • Proficient in decisions analysis and presenting options papers to influence stakeholders and remove roadblocks
  • Able to synthesise and translate service design blueprints and customer journeys into process maps, wireframes and business requirements
  • Able to work independently and deliver outcomes with minimal guidance or input
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, and to develop consensus thinking
  • Ability to network with the business to develop effective relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure collaboration and engagement are maintained
  • Demonstratable working knowledge of Business Analysis techniques, problem solving tools (e.g. root cause analysis), continuous improvement tools (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)
  • A certification in Agile delivery methodology or relevant industry experience  
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of scaled Agile project delivery and practices
  • Experience in managing change resistance and the practical application of change management techniques to achieve commitment 
  • Basic project management skills (planning and task management)
