Senior.NET Developer

ActewAGL’s Technology team are seeking an achievement orientated individual, a keen learner with strong attention to detail, analytical and development skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
The Retail IT group of ActewAGL’s Technology Division which this position will be part of is highly customer focused as we work to develop digital solutions for the business. This is a critical role for the business as many of our in-house applications are developed in .NET.
In this role you will work closely with Designers, other Developers, Solution Architects and Technical Leads, helping to develop and support innovative .NET/C# projects. The role involves analysis, design, development and deployment of applications in an agile framework. You will have the opportunity to build constructive relationships with internal clients in order to improve and maintain applications and services.
The role will require a thorough understanding of the software development life-cycle and will assist the team on delivery from ideation through to deployment. You'll also have a keen thirst to be constantly learning about new technology that we can bring to our clients.

Your day in the role:
- Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable .NET solutions for an array of technical and business problems
- Perform technical analysis and design, application development and deployment of .NET solutions to support business requirements
- Ensure development sprints are achievable through accurate user story estimations and close collaboration with Project Managers and Business Analysts
- Ensure customer privacy, data security, unit testing and performance are considered in all development services
- Contribute to a highly motivated software development team dedicated to delivering the highest quality solutions
- Contribute to the development of IT practices and procedures that optimise development techniques within the group.
To be successful, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science/IT/Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- At least 4+ years’ experience with .NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller, Web API, Entity Framework)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Agile / Scrum methodologies
- Experience with front-end development languages including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
- Experience implementing and/or supporting continuous deployment with tools such as Azure DevOps
- Experience in unit testing, Test Driven Development
- Experience using a modern version control system such as GIT or VSTS/Azure for DevOps
- Experience with end-to-end enterprise implementations and/or upgrades
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent time management kills and the ability to prioritise to meet business and operational needs.
