About the Role  

We have an opportunity for a Senior Performance Business Partner to join our Finance & Business Services team. Reporting into the Network Standards & Performance Manager your role will involve transforming raw network data into actionable insights, and ensuring performance metrics are acted upon to drive better outcomes. You will ensure that changes to timetables, services, service quality and asset functionality are understood by stakeholders and that network performance reporting requirements are fulfilled. Your role will be instrumental to enhancing network performance, fostering stakeholder engagement, and supporting the achievement of our organisation's objectives.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the transformation of raw network data into near real-time and periodic performance reports, ensuring clarity, structure, and interactivity of key performance metrics.
  • Developing, enhancing, testing, implementing, and maintaining operational and asset performance reports to meet evolving stakeholder needs and requirements.
  • Ensuring stakeholders comprehend network performance obligations, utilise near real-time information to identify emerging trends, and take proactive measures to enhance customer outcomes and financial performance.
  • Developing models to analyse and report the impact of timetable alterations, including altered journey times and service frequency, on performance metrics and financial outcomes.
  • Developing models to analyse and report the impact altered asset reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety condition, on performance metrics and financial outcomes.
  • Overseeing the production of prompt, accurate and understandable performance reports in line with organisational needs and commercial obligations.
  • Fostering collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance MTS’ objectives while adhering to MTS’ Delegation of Authority.
  • Undertaking additional responsibilities and projects as directed by the Network Standards and Performance Manager.

About You 

You have extensive experience analysing large data sets, displaying findings visually through intuitive charts and tables and have overseen the development of data models and/or reporting packages in previous roles. You are comfortable describing data transformation processes, complex calculations, and key insights derived from charts and tables. You have stakeholder management experience and are comfortable tailoring messages to your target audience verbally, in written documents and visual presentations.

You will also possess the following:

  • Degree in relevant discipline or professional experience and/or qualification deemed to be equivalent.
  • Experience in the practical application and variation of commercial agreements and/or modelling of contractual clauses will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in operational and customer centric working environments including railways, engineering, transport, logistics or other similar safety regulated industries will be highly regarded.
  • Working knowledge of planning, logistics and maintenance scheduling principles will be highly regarded.
