The Role

  • Research, develop, review, and publish cyber security advice tailored to various Defence stakeholder
  • Assist with the development of cyber security related policies and procedure.
  • Assist to identify and mitigate cyber security risks
  • Support cyber security risk assessment activities
  • Support processes to ensure compliance to Australian and international cyber security and information security standards and guidance material as appropriate
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment

Additional Role Information 
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our Team

At the Directorate of ICT Security Management (DICTSM), our mission is to positively influence and strengthen the security posture of Defence ICT systems through provision of leadership, guidance, direction and, the proactive identification, analysis and remediation, or mitigation, of ICT system vulnerabilities. As the whole-of-Defence cyber security service provider, the Directorate of ICT Security Management provides leadership, direction, governance and management services for the Defence cybersecurity capability. DICTSM positively influences and strengthens the security posture of Defence ICT systems through the proactive identification, analysis and remediation or mitigation of ICT system vulnerabilities. DICTSM provides advice and guidance to inform risk based assessments in the development, deployment and maintenance of secure Defence ICT systems and capabilities.
